Well it's 11 kids and the mother. They said the church was like 70+ people in the community.

I think they're mostly cousins though. The one "Gramps" guy had 13 kids, and 4 of them left the church, but I think most of the people there are his kids and grandkids and so on. A few are not related, I'm sure. I know that one guy and his family joined after he started a documentary about them a few years before this documentary was made.

There was a video of some westboro church folks protesting something. And across the street a bunch of gay people showed up, but instead of protesting the church in retaliation they set up a booth on the side of the street, asking for donations for various Gay/lesbian groups and shit.
I thought it was just a little tacky to be asking for money on the side of the road, but at the same time it was kind of genius to do it across the street from the westboro church people while they were having their protest. Ha ha.

Oh totally. I'm the youngest, so everyone still treats me like the baby. I'm the youngest grandchild on my dad's side, and I was always the youngest in my group of friends. I think it gave me a complex.

All my cousins are way older. My youngest cousin is at least 5 years older than me. The oldest is at least 15 years older.
I think I'll always be the "little one".. being 5"2 and all.

Some lady (who thinks she's the best ever) told me that her life is higher quality than mine because I didn't go to college. And she assumes my kid was a mistake I made as a teenager. I hate it when people think their way is the only way and that nobody could possibly be happy otherwise.

People like that usually have very low self esteem and say things like that to help make them feel better about their sorry state. Like if they say it, it will become true. Take comfort in the fact that you most likely live a much happier life than she does.

This is one of the things that annoys me, when people think that a degree automatically makes them better and more intelligent than others. I admire people who are cultured over those who are educated. Obviously it's possible to be both but THAT lady clearly isn't.

EVEN worse is when people use the word "mistake" about a child. I have no personal experience of parenthood, but I don't think any parent could consider their child a "mistake", even if the pregnancy wasn't planned. I've read a few interviews of young parents and sometimes they are asked "Do you regret having children so young?". What a terrible thing to ask, isn't that the same as asking them "Do you regret your children?" ?

Ha ha. My mom sat me down and told me I was a mistake when I was 16. At that time my mom and dad had been having marriage troubles so my dad told me he wasn't my real dad. (I already knew this, my grandma told me when I was a kid, but I didn't tell anyone I knew)
My mom explained the whole situation with "It's true he's not your real dad, he adopted you, you're a mistake."

I was like "uhh... OK?"
