What roped me in was "Girl Anachronism."

Other than that I'm ashamed to say I haven't heard ANY of their other songs. :|

There are a lot of songs in Yes, which are easily skipped within the first few seconds and forgotten about.

The first album..the songs just draw you in.

Its hard to explain.

For some reason, I really like the Shores o California video, but I don't like the song too much. That usually never happens.

half jack is my favourite song by them but i would reccomend pretty much anything off the first album.

some of theirs and amandas cover songs are worth listening to as well.

www.automaticjoy.com is a good site for their stuff.

For me that's backwards. My problem with the first album is that there are way too many boring slow songs. I'm not saying slow songs in general are boring, but dear god, way more than half of the first album is ballads, ballads, ballads, ballads. It gets old, and quite a few of those ballads are just really really boring. The songs on Yes, Virginia are faster, much more aggressive, and are much more interesting. Now I definitely love their first album, but to me, Yes Virginia was a vast improvement.

Anyways, changing subject;
Has anyone seen The Onion Cellar? It's a great stage production that Amanda Palmer wrote and features Dresden Dolls songs.

I love both their albums although it took me a while to get into Yes virginia i actually prefer it to the first album, mostly because the lyrics are so funny and clever. I agree with Commando the the whole ballads thing on the first album it does get old even tho Slide is one of my favourites.
Oh yeh everyone must listen to the B-side "Lonely Organist Rapes Page Turner" Love that song! Anyone got the b-sides from the first album?

I recommend:
Hit me baby one more time.
It's fucking hillarious. The first time I heard it I laughed for the whole song, and after it.

I <3 the Dresden Dolls.
Amanda Palmer is fucking amazing. <3

Anyone heard Amanda Palmer's cover of "I will follow you into the dark"?

I'm in love with it.
Can't stop listening.

^^I agree.

Yes Virginia seemed a bit more poppy, not that there's anything wrong with that, but I liked her angry sounding pop songs off the s/t. Yes Virginia there are still songs I skip, same with No, Virginia. But for the most part, I love them, and almost every single song. Very original band, fun live, and very nice people.

i love backstabber, and good day. Amanda Palmer is amazing. So is Brian, they're so sexy together. Making music i mean. Not romantically or anything.

One of my favorite bands of all times.Love them.I went to rough period last year and their music was thing that helped me the most to get out of that period.Songs are just amazing, lyrics too, stage act, just everything.
Amanda's solo career is maybe even better, friend and I will invite her to come and visit us next summer xD

I hope she comes my way, I know she's in London now, I prefer the Dresden Dolls, but I'd love to see Amanda live too.

I feel the same. Would love to see the Dolls, but wanna see her solo too.

Just sucks because the last few times the Dresden Dolls have been here I didn't have the cash, and when Amanda was here solo it was pretty pricey coz she was at the Opera House, so I couldn't go.
