there probaly has been a thread but i did look through the whole 28 pages to see one but i couldnt find one.
anyway i thought cos they've released their new album Let The Dominos Fall i wondered what everyone thought of it?

I love damnation and la river, not very keen on skull city though.

I've given Rancid countless opportunities, but it just doesn't work for me.

It was okay. There was one track I think I really liked. The rest didn't seem to stick out at all. For me, they're turning into water.

Keep saying I need to buy that black and white album with the dude on the cover (dont ask..I am not a big fan) but always forget.

HMV charges like Ј11 for it, too.

but HMV can up their prices loads as they dont really have any other competition (except online downloading) that can out do them seeing as zavvi is gone now.

I listen to them every day in my car they have a few tracks I LOVE but the rest I don't really listen to. Haven't heard the new album yet...

Car jams: Ruby Soho, Roots Radicals, Red Hot Moon, Rwanda, Loki (it went away I have to go and get it back somehow), a few I've forgotten the names of, but they're from the self-titled 2000 album. Detroit and Travis Bickle.

Some of my fave Rancid songs are: Old Friend, Nihilism, Red Hot Moon, Time Bomb, Tropical London and Ruby Soho.

Found everything bland, it just sounded like an entire album of filler content. I could be wrong and I'll give it a few more runs, but first impressions weren't good.

Pass on that, but I prefer the Life Won't Wait demos over everything else really, it's got a better, more lively sound than the album release and they're some of my favourite Rancid songs. Cash, Culture & Violence was pretty much wrecked on the album IMO.

I don't like it all that much.
With Rancid, they have some of the best music and lyrics I've heard, and then some of the worst lyrics I've heard in my life.

My favorite is either their first one or Rancid 2000. Black Derby Jacket is one of my all time favorite songs. I also love Let's Go.

Any idea what the bitrate is on them? I've got it in FLAC but obviously iPods don't take that and I'm extremely lazy when it comes to converting so it'd be easier to re-download if those were 320kbs! -hopes-

It's VBR (V2), save two tracks which are only 192.

For those of you who don't know, VBR is almost as good quality as 320, but saves much more space. V0 is better than V2.

Most of the time, when I like music it's because of the feeling I get when I listen to it. I don't know how to describe the feeling I get when I listen to Golden Gate Fields, but it is another of my absolute favorite songs.
I haven't listened to any of the new Rancid album, but I'm guessing I will like it because I will always have a soft spot for them.

let's go was the first one i heard, so maybe that's why i like it so much.
but i like all the others too for many different reasons.
...and out come the wolves was one of the first albums i "waited" to be released, and life won't wait felt so right for its time.
and 2000 has axiom with the best bass line ever written.

Compared to some of the other songs on the album (Loki is only 45 SECONDS long) Radio Havanah just feels like a fucking EPIC neverending story. I LOVE the song, don't get me wrong, but I wasn't very clear. What I meant was, I don't like listening to it in my car.

My attention span is MIA man.
