Oh, sigh. Needy boy.
This does not include the mariachi album and I was thoroughly disappointed about that. I'll up it. Hang in there, champ.

It's ambient drone. I have lots of it on my computer. And to be honest, their interpretation of it isn't that great.

It's called experimentation. Though I'm not surprised that the people here don't understand the brilliance of Ambient.

Yeah, my music collection includes Aphex Twin, Boards of Canada, Future Sound of London, Plastikman etc and has done for 15 years. I'm all for bands experimenting with genres but that was way below par. At least they tried something new.

Haha, okay. I didn't mean to offend you. I assumed you hadn't heard the genre before from your reaction.

I guess I was talking more about drone stuff like Stars of the Lid, Eluvium, Drona Parva, and Thisquietarmy. It's a little different than electronic stuff like Boards of Canada and what not.

But I agree. Like I said earlier, I didn't like their interpretation.

Is there a new album? Because this thread is for upcoming albums that haven't been released yet. If you're looking just for any of their albums, you'll have better luck in the share/request thread.

I dunno if this counts as a leak but some great Hole demos have just started circulating. I got from Turpentine Forums, uploaded by Drownsoda.

They're a great set of tracks.

Original Post:

"[i:2lquq076]New Hole studio demos are now in circulation!

A number of unsurfaced tapes were in the hand of a trader on the ZOMB torrent tracker a few months back. I contacted him myself, but got no reply. A French Nirvana trader, Julien Delassaux, is now in posession of the tapes and last night, circulated two of the three tapes he received.

The tapes are : the complete 03/25/93 John Peel Session, which includes 'She Walks On Me', 'The Void', 'Olympia', 'Softer Softest (take 1)' and 'Softer, Softest (take 2)'. As opposed to an FM broadcast, these tapes are NOT FM broadcast, but pre-FM tapes stolen from the studio and best of all, they're more complete and superior quality to what we have now.

The second tape is ann undocumented Mark Goodier session from 03/27/93, which includes 'Credit in the Straight World', 'Gutless', 'Old Age' and 'Doll Parts', again from a pre-FM tape. This means that the 'Gutless/Old Age' thought to be from a re-broadcast of John Peel session are actually from a completely different session altogether.

Also, Hole's complete recordings from Nirvana's Rio Sessions in January 1993 will be circulating in a few days. More information will be posted here when Julien circulates them. [/i:2lquq076]"

If you've never been to Turpentine Forums it's brilliant for Hole bootlegs.

[url=http://z15.invisionfree.com/Turpentine_Forums/index.php:2lquq076]http://z15.invisionfree.com/Turpentine_Forums/index.php[/url:2lquq076]?

I put the two sessions in the same folder:

Huh?

Do you mean they sound like Nevermind? I thought on Old Age she sounds similar to Kurt/Nirvana.

One of my most favorite bands of all time.

Mono - Hymn To The Immortal Wind (Advance) [2009/MP3/V2(VBR)] (Scene)

Artist: Mono
Album: Hymn To The Immortal Wind
Label: Human Highway Records
Playtime: 66:57 min
Genre: Rock
Rip date: 2009-02-05
Size: 99.63 MB
Type: Advance
Quality: 195 kbps / 4410kHz / Joint Stereo

- Release Notes ------------------------------------------------------------- -

Just in time for their 10-year anniversary, MONO return with their fifth
studio album, the absolutely massive Hymn To The Immortal Wind.

After touring almost non-stop for five years, the band hibernated for over a
year to focus solely on writing Hymn. The result is their most thoughtful and
eclectic album to date. Written and arranged with a hopeful, romantic
narrative in mind, the songs string together like chapters in an epic love
story. The music is naturally majestic, with MONOЖs trademark wall of noise
crashing beautifully against the largest chamber orchestra the band has ever
enlisted. The instrumentation is vast, incorporating strings, flutes, organ,
piano, glockenspiel and tympani into their standard face-melting set-up.

Recorded to analog tape with long-time friend and producer Steve Albini,
there is an intimacy captured here that is at once beautiful and a little
terrifying. The creaking of old wooden chairs as the orchestra rocks in their
seats (both literally and figuratively), puckered lips rolling along flutes,
and even the conductorЖs opening cue can be heard during the hauntingly quiet
opening moments

While Hymn continues to mine the cinematic drama inherent in all of MONO's
music, the dynamic shifts now come more from dark-to-light instead of
quiet-to-loud. The maturity to balance these elements so masterfully has
become MONO's strongest virtue.

- Track List ---------------------------------------------------------------- -

01. Ashes in the Snow (11:45)
02. Burial at Sea (10:38)
03. Silent Flight, Sleeping Dawn ( 6:00)
04. Pure as Snow (Trails of the Winter Storm) (11:25)
05. Follow the Map ( 3:55)

They're mp3's, so iTunes isn't necessary. If she needs help, she should talk to me!

It's Post-Rock. Intense instrumental. They used a 28 piece orchestra for this album.

You don't need to be a member. Copy/paste the download link in a new tab or window, and click the blue fat link that says "Click here to start download." It's not brain surgery…
