It's extremely long, but I took an interest in this after a Psych class I took. Zimbardo's an American psychologist who did a prison experiment in the 70s..basically he placed a bunch of college kids into roles of prison guards and prisoners, and they ended up having to cut the experiment short because it became so brutal. Then, in '04...remember all those photos in the news of the abused Iraqi soldiers? They were startlingly similar to photos from the prison study. They actually had Zimbardo become involved with those trials. This book kind of ties all of his observations together.

now i wanna read it

i know how it ends. considering it was written by a 19-year-old girl I thought it was good. But it wasn't doing very well of keeping my interest and when I lost what page I was on I thought "FUCK IT"

Currently I'm just under 100 pages in [b:27w754g4]Stephen Kings Eyes of the dragon.[/b:27w754g4]
I am enjoying it thus far but it's weird, I'm used to blood and guts from King..not kings, jesters, and...dragons?

I finished Eyes of the dragon. Probably the fastest I've ever read a book that isnt in the Hp series.

Now 22 pages in The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon.

You should! It's a little tedious wading through some of the religious babble but over all it's worth reading. I'm doing a much easier read right now:

My friend got me this book and it's hilarious.

List of 150 things white people like with a couple of pages detailing each. Coffee, farmers markets, asian girls, standing still at concerts, rennovations, expensive sandwiches, vintage t-shirts, etc. "Religions their parents don't belong to" is one of my favorites.

"When a white person tells you 'I'm a Buddhist/Hindu/Kabbalahist,' the best thing to do is ask how they arrived at their religious decision. The story will likely involve a trip to Thailand or a college class on religion."

He also includes some random funny diagrams..series of questions to name your baby, what's on the white person's ipod..it's funny.

Stephen King-Blaze. It's possible I'll be reading something else tomorrow though, I've tried so many times to read this book and failed miserably.
