This is just an example of thinly-veiled homophobic hate crime. There is nothing "corrective" about rape. If lesbians are being brutally raped and beaten, I don't see how that's supposed to make them straight... I would think it would just make them dislike men even more...

Everyone has it shitty in Africa, not just women. It's a real fucked up place. I feel more sorry for children in Africa who can't defend themselves and are orphaned by war and dying of hunger/disease. AIDs is running rampant all over the place. There's land mines and shit. Civil war.
And even then I can only feel so sorry for them without wondering "If instead of starving to death or dying from disease, if they did grow up, would THEY continue to wage war and rape and kill?"
A grim and heartless thing to wonder, I'm sure, but somebody has to fucking wonder it.

I'm not surprised to see a story like this coming out of a place like Africa. I'm not particularly disgusted or alarmed either, this has been going on for a long time. I AM disgusted by the whole fucking country, however. And I'm alarmed that with as fucked up a place it is, people still LIVE and THRIVE there.

I was SO fucking disappointed as a kid when I learned that Africa (or part of it) is considered to be the Cradle of Life. For being such an important place it sure is SHITTY.

I can't really think of anything else to put in this thread other than it's heartbreaking. When I watched the film Blood Diamond I was crying so much especially at the beginning when they go through that village because I knew that the level of violence actually happens and is happening
