I love how months ago he is a fucking pedophile and now that he is dead he is a "legend, a sweet man and iconic." Fuck he was a hot chick and I hated his music to be honest.
[/quote:21rjq639]

Right!

But he's not dead, he's faking it, just like he faked being white.

Not to be a jerk or anything, but why are people so broken up about it? Sure, it's sad, but people who never met him are acting like they lost a friend or family member. I feel for his family and friends, I really do, but I'm not going to lose any sleep over it. No tears have been squeezed from my eyes. What was the last thing he did musically? His last album came out in 2001, so you can't say you'll miss out on new music. The only thing he's been known for lately is being a creepy perv. Now that he's dead, he's a wonderful human being?
Maybe it's because I've lost someone very close to me very recently, but it really irritates me when people act like they care when they never really knew the person who died.

I'm not trying to be mean, I'm just trying to understand.
[/quote:2wtk00uf]

Personally, I love Smooth Criminal and I think the moon walk is one of the coolest fucking dance moves ever. Do I give two shits about Michael? Nah. Am I said he died? Not really, he's not the only person that died that day, 40,000+ other people died too.
I haven't really given any shits about it.
[/quote:2wtk00uf]

Mabel, I approve of this attitude, it pleases me.
Michael Jackson's music [b:2wtk00uf]was[/b:2wtk00uf] filled with powerful, positive messages. He represented love, he helped so many, he donated so much money to the needy, his philanthropy will never be forgotten.

Second, His music [b:2wtk00uf]was[/b:2wtk00uf] amazing, no body was making music like him in the 80's, his music has transcended generations, 13 yr olds now love his music and his tracks are still hot at the clubs, his pop music was one of a kind. 13 Grammies, his music was loved.

Third, his performance on stage [b:2wtk00uf]was[/b:2wtk00uf] pulse pounding, it gave you chills watching him on stage...
[/quote:2wtk00uf]

Sure he was an Icon. Keyword, WAS. He USED to be. Past tense.

Its sad...surreal.

If anything I thought he'd live to 100, and get creepier & weirder as the years went on.

[b:1x9szou3]Michael Jackson's good friend Liza Minnelli told CBS's "The Early Show" today that she believes the late singer's autopsy results are going to cause quite a stir.
"All of us who knew him well really know what he was like," she said. "And I'm sure that now the accolades are going, and I'm sure when the autopsy comes, all hell's going to break loose. So, thank God we're celebrating him now."
She went on to say how devastated she is for the loss of her good friend.
"He was just a really splendid man," she said. "And a brilliant performer who changed theatrical history. And I will miss him, I cannot tell you." [/b:1x9szou3]

kayla why should you have to know someone deeply to care? it's the originator of some brilliant work that i mourn.. not the man, the father or the kook - simply the brain behind some major pieces of work. I care because his work has influenced me, it just so happens to have influenced millions around the world as well.

you say people pretend to care, but how do you know? it's based on how you perceive someones sincerity and that's not something i can convince you of.

that's my opinion based off what you said/asked..

i respect everyone's opinions because he didn't have the same impact on one person as maybe the next person..
to my generation he was like elvis
i was born in '78 and so being an 80's kid, michael jackson pretty much dominated tv and radio,
and even sometimes fashion. movies. you name it.
the first black artist to break thru to mtv,
he changed music, and you cannot deny that

also look how many generations he's touched?
people who are now kids, and teenagers love him
i work with a lady who's 45 and she loved the jackson 5
my mom's close to 60 and she still listens to the jackson 5
everlasting

Soulless Westboro Baptist Church members to protest at Farrah & Michael's funerals
Westboro Baptist Church

NEWS RELEASE

WBC TO PICKET FUNERALS OF MICHAEL JACKSON AND FARRAH
FAWCETT-MAJORS, IN RELIGIOUS EDUCATION, PROTEST, AND
WARNING; TO WIT: GOD HATES (I removed the homophobic slur), FORNICATORS AND ICONS.

"Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind; it is
abomination." Lev. 18:22.
"And God spake all these words, saying, I am the Lord thy
God...thou shalt have no other gods (icons) before me."
Ex. 20:1-3.

Michael & Farrah made names for themselves by catering to the filthy lusts of the people of this generation and teaching rebellion against the standards and commandments of God. God punished them both by cutting their lives short and sending them to hell. These two whoremongers and adulterers have been disabused of the notion that their fame could stop the wrath of the living and true God.

MICHAEL & FARRAH ARE IN HELL!

I am a 59 year old mother and grandmother I've been a fan of Michael Jackson ever since he was the star of the Jackson Five. I've always loved his music and am sorry that he has died. He will be missed. I had always hoped that I could see him in concert. I'll alwayslove his music.

he made so good music!

You are in neverland now. I love you:*

What I said was based purely on personal experience and opinions.

I guess I just can't be that emotionally attached to somebody I've never met.

I'll remember when I found out about 9/11.

Its weird as I'm not American, but it still shook me. I think it was the horrible pictures filling the news for days after.

I don't remember where I was when any of those happened. OJ died??

I was watching TV on saturday morning when my aunt called and she's like "PUT ON THE NEWS OMG" so I changed it to the news and 9/11 was happening.

oh yeah duh 9/11 (how could i forget THAT)

i don't remember which day it happened.. it was a work day for me though
i remember seeing the 2nd plane hit :(

challenger was in 1986, i was living in long beach and we were eating breakfast, i remember eating toast, and watching the space shuttle launch. it was a big deal because we were gonna talk about it in class and stuff. then it exploded.....

OJ murders/chase were in 1994.. my uncle was LAPD homicide at the time working the case and crime scenes so i was more interested

anna nicole was a few years ago!
my friend msged me ANNA NICOLE IS DEAD and i was at a friend's house so we went online and watched the madness break out

My dad remembers JFK dying. He was in the car and he remembers where he was going and that the radio was shit and they could hardly hear etc.

At school they said we'd always remember finding out the Queen Mother dying. I don't.

I remember Princess Diana dying though, it was the morning after my mum's birthday, I remember her funeral too, my mum cried her eyes out.
