ooh yeh I heard about that!

Hermoine (Emma Watson) was on a chat show last night, she never said anything about it! She kissed him two weeks ago you know! for rehersals. She used to do my head in but now she is an adult speaking as an adult not 11 acting like an adult she doesn't annoy me.

I went shopping and purchased food, One Flew Over The Cuckoo Nest DVD, The Books Of Albion by Peter Doherty, absolutely lovely.
I wanted to buy some more Dr Martens off Ebay but I saw the book and had to buy it.
It's gone back to being really hot hereee.

On Thursday I went to Little Ceaser's pizza (lol) when I parked this kid approached me and introduced himself, he was speaking with a pretty think spanish accent and said something about being from Peru and that he was trying to raise money, he opened up a folder with all these foil, holographic pictures (there was a picture of a kitten, and another picture of the last supper) and I was like "You're selling these?" and he was like "yes" and I was like "Im not gonna buy any..." and he was like "come on" and I was like "no" and he was like "You can do it!" and brandished his fist (not in a threatening way, but in a "you can do it!" kind of way) and i was like "nopes" and I went inside. He followed me inside and stood around waiting for a little while then he left. When I went back to my car he had disappeared completely. I felt kind of guilty and thought "man what if that was Jesus in disguise man?" It's weird cos I'm not christian and don't believe in god, so I shouldn't worry right? But I've always been superstitious like that. Paranoid about things I don't believe in...

I've been desperately looking for a new band/artist to listen to. I want to feel a fucking music crush again!
But 97% of the stuff I've checked during this quest of mine has been the same bullshit. Same voice, same instruments, same melodies, same lyrics.

Screamin' Eagle is fucking fabulous. Deserty rock, big sound, incredible production, and groove oriented. I think they are from Wales and I think they get big. They got the chops.

What does desert rock actually mean?

Those boys are clearly very talented but I can't imagine myself listening to them. Maybe the guitars are too dominant, I've never been good at specifying things when it comes to music.

I "found" a band which blew me away. I knew they existed and had heard one of their songs before, many times even, but I never thought it would fit my CD player. Now I'm determined to get their record. They're so charmingly weird.

im listening to that band Lite Brite (band asking for people to buy their tickets for spinnerette show) and Silversun pickups (even though liked one song before) but yeh hard to find stuff.

Yeah Kyuss is the invention of "stoner" rock but I call it desert rock. Its heavy, sludge-y, and rad. Josh Homme's band Kyuss are considered the founding fathers of this genre. He then did Queens of the Stone Age, still desert rock, heavy guitar, killer riffs, and awesome beats. Its like if the Stooges, Black Flag and Black Sabbath hung around the desert, drank some beers and jammed....that type of sound.

Brant Bjork is another desert jammer...he was in Kyuss also. I really enjoy his solo stuff. Not heavy per say but really relaxed and groove-oriented.

s'all about the groove but its heavy too, 'sweet enough for the chicks hard enough for the guys' josh said that about qotsa..or something similar, but probably applied to kyuss....it's not heavy in the usual way, the atomosphere makes it heavy, 'robot rock' is another one but josh said that also. I've never been to a desert but love this stuff. And this applies to Spinnerette, the heavy but heavy with atomosphere thing which is why i love it.
