Basically, after that article came out, mentioning Melissa coming to do backing vocals and Beinhorn (sp?) producing, Melissa was asked about it, said there was nothing planned, and it was really vague, the producer just mentioned it to her, she said she would cause she cares about Courtney and likes working with the producer, but she's heard nothing since, recorded nothing with Courtney and heard somewhere that Beinhorn had left the project.

Yeah, no kidding. Honestly, I can't believe that's she's tackling such a public undertaking this early on in her sobriety. After 40 years of heavy drug and alcohol abuse, her brain has got to be shot. To me, she should be working on herself - not an album to be released to relentless public scrutiny. As I happen to own an Elle magazine with her gracing the cover, I'd say yes.

I enjoy American Sweetheart. It's not my favourite record in the world and there are songs I always skip (e.g. Zeplin song), but there are also many that I like. Definitely prefer it over the first Hole album, which only has two songs that I'd willingly listen to.

I also prefer it over those demos that I've heard. :S I have a feeling this new record won't become a part of my CD collection.
