Courtney Love's biography

The Poppy Z Brite one. I read it years ago, but started it again cause I realised how much money I waste on magazines when I get the train.

I'd love to know how much of it is actually true.

"[i:2njav8dj]The Whisperers - Private Life in Stalin's Russia[/i:2njav8dj]", Orlando Figes.

Strongly recommend to anyone interested in the Soviet Union (if anyone is..) I've been sick and tired of the USSR and Stalin etc. after too many books and documentaries, so I was reluctant to start reading this gift from my father, but it's bloody excellent!

I'm not reading anything right now, but I've just been on amazon and bought:
White Oleander,
Tuesdays With Morrie,
Babes in Toyland: The Making and Selling of a Rock and Roll Band.

The Babes one, I've heard is a good read, but apparently the band didn't like it.

Try second hand on Amazon, mine was only 1.60 or something, not including postage.

It'll be easier to get in the US too I assume.

I think because it exaggerates or maybe puts incorrect stuff in it. I've been told its a good read regardless though, I guess I'll just have to remember to take the info with a pinch of salt.

I'll let you know, I'm not sure when it'll arrive cause I bought it from an independent seller. I hate waiting! Its sooo much cheaper though.

Second hand is great on Amazon, I got all three books for about 9 quid, and the bulk of that was the postage, the other two books cost a penny each. I've bought various plays and stuff that i needed for Uni from there and I've found condition description's always been truthful.

Seen as my books are shipping from the US, I'm gonna start Neuromancer by William Gibson.

Not usually my thing, but my boyfriend loves him, it was already in the flat so I'll try it .

^^We have to read that this year for English.

I have no motivation to read.
Because the book I [i:3jr3y7h8]really[/i:3jr3y7h8] want to read is currently held by a class mate. He's had it for over two weeks! So annoying.

Picked up and started reading Northanger Abbey today. Reading three books at the same time when you really don't have time for any of them isn't a great idea, but can't help myself.

I bought 'Diet For A Dead Planet' after Brody mentioned it, as I'm vegan and it sounded interesting. haven't had chance to read it properly yet though. I gave it my dad to have a look at since he eats meat... He read a chapter, lol (who knew he could read that much though!? lol). I'm always busy (working on Black Velvet mag) so never get time to actually sit and read books. :|

Troikka by Jari Tervo.
My father didn't recommend the book because he thinks Tervo tries too hard, but I find it hilarious. And terrifying too, a few people were just executed.. But otherwise funny.

I like it. Does get a little depressing but it's good.

A friend recommended that I read it, and I wanted to read it before the movie came out.
