I happen to have a Swedish surname and it is a real pain in the ass to make people spell it correctly. I understand why she would want to change it to something simpler. I am considering doing so myself..

i've haven't got a german surname either..so for germans i need to usually spell it too..i'd never ever change my name tho.

i can't stand nadine either. i think it's because i'm from northern ireland as well. her voice just goes straight fucking through me. when you're from northern ireland and you hear what your accent sounds like on tv, it can make you want to rip out your own vocal chords.
