i adore kat and katastrophy wife are awesome Sweetheart is their best song and the Babes were awesome too

. Anyone ever heard the Pagan Babies Demo's?( Corky Love ,Kat Bjelland and Jen Finch from L7 / The Shocker.) they are really cool songs.

Bumping this cause I mentioned Kat in the Courtney thread, just went looking for info on her apparently "being homeless", apparently she was going through some heavy financial crap at the end of last year, but as far as I can tell her and her boyfriend are fine. (Its his youtube channel I posted in the Courtney thread).

She worked waiting tables for a while, if I got served by her I'd freak out haha.

I also didn't know she was hospitalised and got diagnosed with schizophrenia. She apparently was paranoid people were watching her and destroyed some of her boyfriend's paintings cause she thought they had cameras behind them.

She's always been twitchy and kind of manic, and I know she has/had a drug problem, but I never realised she was actually diagnosed with any mental disorder.

The videos on that channel are cute, especially the one of her dancing at the M.I.A concert.

I've just got the KW albums, I never listened before cause I heard a couple of songs on youtube ages ago and wasn't into them, but I'm gonna try again.

Correct me if you know any of this to be wrong btw, I'm getting this from magazine articles and people on forums haha.

OK so I finished the book I was reading on them.

I can see why the band didn't like it, it read like fiction, full of cliches and really cheesy. Apparently some of the anecdotes never happened and the band have been quoted as saying they felt it described them as cartoon characters of themselves, which is a pretty good way to describe it.

However I did enjoy it. A lot of the chapters, in fact most of the middle section didn't really focus on the band, but what lengths their A&R guy had to go to get a band like Babes to be taken seriously at a major label, and what went on at Warner Bros. in the lead up to the release of Fontanelle. For instance how they could promote them without the band losing respect from the underground scene, trying to get played on MTV and commercial radio. I found all this pretty interesting.

I also liked that a lot of the band orientated parts seemed to be told from Lori's perspective.

It did paint Kat as a bit of a bitch though.
