I have 5 weiner dogs and all are rescue dogs. Puppy mills are horrible they basically kill them and then make them into dog food....horrible.

they are places where people breed dogs under poor living conditions.

a lot of shelters tend to be shitty, i want to do something to improve that i hate that they put the animals down, definetly adopt

Dog's aren't sold in pet shops over here. It's absolutely inhumane. You have to go to a dog shelter, and they aren't great either, but, save a dog, don't just buy a puppy from a shop.

It depends what kind you want and where you get it. Most shelters are free, but it's always nice (and better for the animals) to give a donation.
From a private breeder, you're talking Ј200-600 depending on the breed.

We were just under Ј700 for two Lhasa Apsos.
